Animal Adventure at London Zoo

Animal Adventure at London Zoo

Looking for ways to keep the little ones entertained this summer? Opening on 31st July is ZSL London Zoo’s brand new Animal Adventure Zone, taking young visitors on an exciting voyage of animal discovery!

Start your adventure by jumping into a child-sized hot air balloon, and follow in Darwin’s footsteps on the replica HMS Beagle – braving bridges, slides and ladders in your quest to discover new animals! Meet a host of wonderful animals, from meerkats and mongooses to eagle owls and porcupines: the specially designed low barriers give young visitors magical close-up animal encounters, allowing them to watch the animals living and behaving as they would in the wild. Spot the Zoo’s resident pygmy goats, kune kune pigs, llamas and donkeys taking their regular walks around the area, too!

There’s plenty of opportunities for young animal-lovers to discover fascinating facts about the zoo’s furry residents: head to the open-air amphitheatre for daily talks from expert zookeepers, answering questions such as how llamas trek through the Andes, or why young meerkats must travel alone to find a mate. Leave time to scale the mini climbing wall and brave the treetop rope course; and, if it’s sunny, enjoy some welcome refreshment from the heat in the watery Splash Zone. With a café selling tasty treats, adults can sit back and relax while their young explorers travel through the animal kingdom!

London Zoo has always been committed to inspiring the next generation, hoping to develop in children a lifelong love of and concern for nature through adventurous play. It was the first zoo to build a specific Children’s Zoo back in 1938, and Animal Adventure is fittingly built on this same site.

Located just two miles away, and with excellent public transport links, the Indigo Paddington is the perfect place to base yourself for this exciting adventure. Book now, and be one of the first people to brave this animal voyage!
