Returning for it’s 21st year, Imagine Children’s Festival is back from 8th – 18th February 2023! The annual festival is aimed at children between the ages of 0 – 11 (plus their adults). Attendees can expect eleven days of jam-packed fun, the festival will host over one hundred events, half of which are absolutely free!

Over the course of the festival you will be able to find unbeatable children's theatre, comedy, music, literature, poetry, dance and, most importantly, full-on fun for families this February half-term.

Families with younger children will be able to join others at Southbank Centre for dance and performance activities the week before half term, this will include the children’s tale Tales from Acorn Wood come to life on stage!

The idea of Imagine Children’s Festival 2023 is to help young ones celebrate their own individuality, champion diversity, spark imagination and help them to unlock their creativity.

Some half-term highlights will include a modernised version of the classic children’s tale ‘Rapunzel’, talks by the author of famous children’s book ‘How to train your Dragon, Cressida Cowell and a daytime rave featuring the world’s youngest DJ, dinosaurs, magic, astronomy, hip-hop and comedy what more could you ask for?

Anyone planning on bringing older children may want to wait until the weekend of the 17th and 18th February, there will be events aimed specifically at kids between the ages of seven to eleven.

The festival includes a wide range of free, inclusive and accessible events and activities.

This festival for children at Southbank Centre is a laid back affair, the aim being that it is meant to be inclusive and have more relaxed performances where moving about and coming and going from the event is made easy for any attendees. There will be a designated relaxed area that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.
