Paddington teams will take to the water at Paddington Basin for the milestone annual Dragon Boat race on 26 July. This year teams will fundraise for COSMIC, Children of St Mary's Intensive Care. Last year’s race raised over £15,000 for COSMIC and this year we hope to raise even more.
Near the stunning Floating Pocket Park, twenty local companies will take part in the race. Teams of eleven will take to the water in their own Dragon Boat and race the length of the Merchant Square canal with the aim of being first past the finishing line and taking home the coveted Dragon Boat cup.
There is also the chance to win prizes in the Paddington rubber duck race. From 12-2pm the same day, donate just £3.00 to enter your duck and watch as they make their journey down the canal. These donations will all go to COSMIC‘s ‘Home From Home Appeal’, enabling parents to be close to their critically ill child and have somewhere to rest from the difficult experience they are going through. Launched from St. Mary’s bridge, join in the fun and support this fantastic cause.
