Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge

One of the most iconic London landmark, Tower Bridge is a bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames near the Tower of London and gives entry to the East End of London.

The bridge is 800 feet in length with two bridge towers linked by two walkways and a central pair of bascules which opens to allow shipping. The bridge is the border of the London congestion zone and is an important traffic route. The bridge deck is open to pedestrians and vehicles. The twin towers, walkways and engine rooms are part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition. Several daring pilots have flown their planes below the bridge to showcase their abilities.
