I first stayed here by default two and a half years ago, after transfer from another hotel which was unable to honour a booking. It was such a good outcome then, that I looked no further than the Indigo for eight nights accommodation in London this month and it worked out perfectly.
The hotel has been well maintained in the intervening years; my standard double room on the first floor was bright, fresh, and clean and had the floor space and facilities I expected. The bed was great; there was abundant hot water and no traffic noise. Internet access in the room was reliable and free.
I booked with the full breakfast option, and this too was all that I hoped for, with staff cheerfully attentive to guests' requests. My morning meals set me up nicely for each day with a tasty, filling mix of hot and cold foods with plenty of health choices. Lunch and dinner are also available from the hotel's brasserie.
The hotel's location retains all its advantages: 200 metres maximum walk to Paddington Station for Heathrow Express or Underground; 100 metres to London buses along Praed Street, and one of the City Tour bus lines has a stop just across the street. Two small supermarts almost next door offer 24/7 supplies of fresh fruit, standard groceries, packaged sandwiches and alcohol. Norfolk Square, just across the road, offers a peaceful garden/park retreat from the city bustle. Little Venice, the Grand Union Canal and Paddington's other attractions are readily walkable from the hotel; even Kensington Gardens is a comfortable (albeit longer stroll).
Overall: Good value for money; friendly, welcoming service; convenient location.
