“ Proportionally Correct ”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 june 2017 on tripadvisor

I have stayed at this hotel several times now on business trips and each visit has been very satisfactory.
The location is fantastic just a couple of minutes away from Paddington station. Once you get out of Heathrow it is only 30 minutes away max. From there the City of London is easy to get to with the underground. Or you can walk to Hyde Park only a couple of blocks south.
The hotel is situated off the Praed Street on the London Road Kensington W2. The automobile traffic is therefore lighter but there is a vibrant street culture for pedestrians with many ethnic restaurants at the doorstep and of course London pubs. The restaurant in the hotel is operated independently so get vouchers for breakfast. The food is bistro and very good.
The hotel is very modern but has been renovated from the original so the rooms are small by North American standards. Nevertheless, the rooms are well appointed and the washroom is more than adequate. King size beds and suites are also available if you like more space.
The central stairwell is a delight for anyone mathematically inclined with wall displays of the Golden Section and Fibonacci series explained and depicted. Even if you are not into the maths the proportionality of the hotel layout reflects this and is pleasing. If you lay on your bed and look up at the ceiling the ratios are even replicated there see if you can spot it!
There is only one elevator (lift). The bar and lounge is down from the reception and you will need to access it through the restaurant. Don't despair, its worth the tranquility and comfortable spacious seating. The daily newspaper is delivered to your room door similar to the USA Today arrangements that many US hotels have.
The staff are cosmopolitan and very helpful.
The price is reasonable considering the location.
I can highly recommend a stay at the Indigo Paddington.
