“ Great hotel located in a very convenient location ”5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 january 2017 on tripadvisor
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were flying in to and out of London Heathrow, and we wanted a hotel relatively near the Paddington Station (rail) since we were planning to travel on the Heathrow Express to and from London Heathrow at the beginning and at the end of our trip to London. This hotel was perfect for us. It is a short walk (3 minute walk) from Paddington rail Station, so we did not have to haul our luggage far at all once we got off the Heathrow Express. We arrived prior to check-in, and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to pre-register, and they held our bags for us, allowing us to go and enjoy London without having to worry about our luggage.
In addition to being conveniently located to Paddington rail Station, this hotel is also conveniently located near at least two (2) Tube stations: Paddington and Lancaster Gate. We used the Paddington tube station when we wanted to travel on the Circle or District lines (we would have also used Paddington to travel on the Bakerloo line, but access to Bakerloo was temporarily closed at Paddington while we were here). We used the Lancaster Gate tube station when we wanted to travel on the Central line. The Paddington tube station is very close to this hotel (about a 2 minute walk), and Lancaster Gate is a little further (less than a 10 minute walk), but, if you need to travel on the Central line, the walk is usually as faster or faster than catching a tube at another station and making connections.
Although on the small side, our room was quiet, modern, and comfortable. We did not hear any noise at night, and the windows had black-out curtains which we could lower into place to block out any outside light (if you like sleeping in a dark room as we do). The bed was wonderful. The pillows were great. The bathroom was modern and very nice.
The staff was alway courteous, and they offered several times to help us with directions, to book a cab, to provide recommendations, etc. They even offered an umbrella to us.
The price (for London) was very reasonable.
There were a number of restaurants nearby. For a wonderful pub, we would highly recommend The Victoria, which is straight down the street at 10A Strathearn Pl, Paddington, London W2 2NH, UK. They had the best fish and chips we ate in London. Be prepared though, they are busy because their food and drinks are so good.
We loved our time in London, and we loved the people we met in Britain and Scotland. We would love to go back there one day soon, and, when we do, we would gladly stay at this hotel again.
Cheers, and we hope you enjoy your travels as much as we did ours.
Room Tip: Our room was facing the street to the northeast (Sussex Place), and it was perfect for us.
