“ A delightful surprise ”

I wasn't expecting much, even with the high average ratings, as I'm usually very disappointed by hotels in London. And my first impressions weren't great - though the location is very convenient to Paddington Station - as I managed to walk straight past the front door without noticing it, and the lobby is fairly unprepossessing. But once I got in there tI was greeted with great friendliness and efficiency, though it was early morning and my room wasn't ready so I left my bag and went off to work. When I got into the room later I found a small, but very well appointed and spotlessly clean room, beautifully decorated with evidence of some careful thought applied to the fittings. A big high comfortable bed, a small sofa, a power board with European and British sockets and two USBs next to the bed. Air conditioning that was quiet but very effective.A tiny but very well appointed bathroom with big thick bathsheets and his and hers bath robes (ie one long one short) and a rain shower. A really good hairdryer. Reliable wifi and a nice desk. Sure the rooms are small but I've stayed in far more expensive hotels in London with rooms no bigger and it's so well appointed that it didn't really matter. I cant comment on the food as I didn't eat there, but I thought the place was great and will happily return.
